Dental assistants typically work close to the dental chair, where they prepare and organize instruments, materials, and medications to assist the dentist as needed.

They also support front office tasks, including scheduling and confirming appointments, welcoming patients, maintaining treatment records, sending invoices, processing payments, and ordering dental supplies and materials.

Approximately half of dental assistants work a standard 35 to 40-hour week, which may include Saturdays.
