Expanded Functions and X-Ray Certification

This program is designed to train dentists and dental assistants in the clinical skills required by the Florida Board of Dentistry to perform expanded functions and operate dental radiology equipment.

Upon completion, participants receive the Expanded Functions and X-Ray Certification, an essential requirement to practice with licensure in the state of Florida and to provide more comprehensive and safe dental care.

Professional Responsibilities

Certified professionals in Expanded Functions and X-Ray are trained to assist dentists in advanced clinical procedures and to safely perform dental radiographic imaging.

With this certification approved by the Florida Board of Dentistry, they are qualified to perform tasks such as taking dental impressions, placing restorative materials and sealants, applying fluoride, adjusting temporary prosthetics, and operating radiographic equipment while following safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Copy of diploma in a healthcare-related field (no translation required)
Valid identification (passport, driver’s license, or government-issued ID)
Resume (CV or professional work history)
Academic transcripts (if the diploma is not available or studies were not completed)

Process

The program consists of an intensive in-person class held in Orlando, FL, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, where students receive both theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical training.

During the session, participants learn to take dental impressions, apply sealants, adjust temporary prosthetics, and perform dental X-rays in accordance with Florida Board of Dentistry standards.
